Our guides bring together public housing and permit records, project planning information and links to the departments responsible for local rules. You can browse them without sending a request.
Permit figures describe recorded projects. They do not tell you what your own project will cost or whether your property qualifies. Our data and editorial methods explain the sources, geography and limits.
How the matching service works
Choose your project, enter its ZIP code and tell us how to contact you. We check the project type and service area, then match your request to a local contractor in our network. Up to three contractors may contact you about it, and we email you each one's name and phone number. We are a matching service, not a contractor.
LA HomeBuild is a lead referral service. We do not carry out construction or issue permits. The contractor sets their own pricing and terms; an estimate request does not commit you to hiring them.
How we make money
Requesting an estimate is free for homeowners. We may receive payment from a contractor for a qualifying lead. A referral is not an independent ranking of every contractor in your area.
Before you hire
Check the contractor’s current license, discuss insurance and ask for a written scope and price. You can look up a California contractor license with CSLB.
